What you write: One optional short statement, up to 300 words.
Optional: what leadership means to you
Up to 300 words · Optional
Leadership is a hallmark of the Nichols education. What does leadership mean to you? Write a short statement including your thoughts on leadership, stories of your lived experience, particular examples that resonate with you, etc.
How to approach it
- Pick one moment and stay there. Readers remember a scene, not a summary.
- Spend at least a third of the essay on what you thought and how you changed.
- Read it out loud. If a line doesn’t sound like you, it isn’t done yet.
